Allen Russell
Of Counsel
Mr. Russell graduated from law school in 1993 and has exclusively practiced family law. During the past 31 years, he has handled countless divorce, child custody, modification and paternity cases in multiple jurisdictions. He had his own firm in Kansas City from 1998 until moving to Georgia with his wife in 2019. While in Kansas, he practiced on both sides of the state line (Missouri and Kansas). He is licensed in four states: Louisiana (1993), Missouri (1994), Kansas (1995) and Georgia (2019).
Allen has done quite a bit of appellate work on a referral basis for family law cases. His moment of glory came back in the early 2000’s, when he made the cover of Missouri Lawyer’s Weekly as a result of winning an appeal on the somewhat obscure issue of the trial court’s ability to award attorney fees to a party who objects in good faith to his ex-spouse’s attempt to relocate out of state with the parties’ minor children. Spoiler alert: the court cannot order the objecting spouse to pay fees, as long as the objection is made in good faith.
He has conducted numerous CLE presentations, is rated “Distinguished” by Martindale-Hubbell for over twenty years and has received numerous “five-star” reviews.
He has been married to his wife Nicole for nearly 13 years. They live in Midtown with their dog, Maggie. He loves to golf, travel, enjoy good wine, take weekend road trips and just getting out and about to explore the Atlanta metro and the region.
